Today: Product manager in the Purchasing department – We interviewed our Associate Product Manager at HSE about her job.
Please introduce yourself!
I have been working in Beauty Purchasing – or Brand and Product Development and Sourcing, as we call it – for almost 2 1/2 years.
What made you want to work for HSE?
The most appealing thing to me was the variety that the job offers. I also liked that you see results right away. And the overall package is just right – HSE makes every effort to ensure that colleagues network with each other, whether on a ski trip, company parties, sports activities, or inter-departmental seminars in which we can participate!
What are your main tasks?
In Purchasing, it is mainly brand and product development, as well as assortment planning and design and trade fair visits. We are also in constant communication with the Planning department and always in contact with our suppliers.
What do you like the most about your day-to-day work?
The variety and the creative freedom and liberty when it comes to products. We have a good team and always something to laugh about at HSE.
What two characteristics do you think a product manager should have and why?
Flexibility and creativity – it is a fast moving industry with constantly new ideas. The ability to work in a team – you have to work with a lot of different people, so communication is important.
On a scale of 1–10, how varied is your job and why?
At least 8 – Every event and product is different and you have to offer customers as much variety as possible. There are always new brands, new products. Even within the team, I often get to delve into other topics and brands.
