What you can expect:
- Self-Service BI Solution Development: Lead the development and maintenance efforts of our self-service BI solution, primarily using Power BI.
- Budget and Licensing Management: Oversee budget allocations for BI initiatives and manage software licensing requirements effectively.
- Knowledge Transfer Facilitate comprehensive knowledge transfer sessions with key stakeholders to ensure optimal utilization of the BI solution.
- Information Security Compliance Ensure adherence to Information Security policies and standards to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality.
- Team Leadership and Mentoring: Provide guidance, mentoring and disciplinary leadership to a team of up to 8 BI professionals, fostering their growth and development and a collaborative and high-performing work environment
- Decision-Making in Data Modeling: Assist the team in making informed decisions regarding data modeling in Snowflake, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
- Semantic Model Design: Design and implement semantic models in Power BI to facilitate intuitive data exploration and analysis.
- SQL and DAX Expertise: Leverage strong SQL and DAX skills to optimize data querying and manipulation processes.
- Agile Collaboration: Collaborate effectively within multifunctional agile teams to deliver BI solutions in a timely manner.
- Retail Knowledge Integration: Utilize retail domain knowledge to enhance BI solutions and address industry-specific challenges effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience (>5 years) in developing and maintaining self-service BI solutions, with a focus on Power BI.
- Strong understanding of budget management, licensing, and knowledge transfer processes and information security policies and best practices.
- Experience in disciplinary leadership, managing a team of up to 8 BI professionals.
- Proficiency in SQL and DAX, with a solid understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts. Experience with Snowflake is a plus
- Experience working in multifunctional agile teams, preferably in a retail environment.
- Fluency in English is required. German and other additional languages are a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Where we work
Ismaning is located on the outskirts of Munich between the Bavarian capital and the airport. The HSE campus is 13 kilometers from the city center of Munich and is easy to reach by all means of transportation. The suburban train (S8) takes you from Ismaning to Munich’s Marienplatz in 23 minutes, or the airport terminal in just 15 minutes. There are also bus connections to the Studentenstadt (U6) subway station. Our campus offers everything you need: a cafeteria, roof terraces, various lawns, and green areas for a stroll during lunch, as well as plenty of free parking.
